ISLAND
PLACEMENT
“Island Placement” refers to the process of accurately placing discrete material pieces, such as pads, foam, or patches, onto a continuous moving web. This process is commonly used in medical, tape, and wearable product manufacturing, and it can significantly reduce material waste by placing material only where it is needed instead of laminating a full-width layer across the entire web.
